Glacier National Park – Day 2

Friday, June 5, was another gorgeous day. We headed to the Many Glaciers area of the park early because we had to drive about 2½ hours around the park.

We stopped at Two Medicine Lake and found some nice reflections in the lake. Some Park employees were getting ready to practice their boating skills – the sightseeing boats opened to the public on the next day. They pointed out a mama grizzly and her 2 cubs up on the mountainside.
There are 3 grizzlies on that mountain to the right.
I doubt that you can see the three tiny brown dots!

Many Glaciers was gorgeous – I’m so glad we made the trip. We stopped in St. Mary and East Glacier on our return trip. We had lunch at the Park Cafe in St. Mary. They had just opened for the season and we were customers 7 and 8. We got the last piece of peach pie – the staff had eaten the rest of the pie as the cook was trying to perfect the crust.

At Goat Lick, we found a herd of about 18 mountain goats. I loved watching the baby learn to climb the mountain.

The Mes wanted to see a bear. It’s probably a good thing they didn’t, because Leo just wanted to pet one and Jackson wasn’t too sure about being close to one.
