Kite Wallhanging

I went to quilt day camp March 15 at Lucky 2B Quilting. I found a pattern for a kite quilt in a great book BUT the wallhanging was too wide for my hanger so I decided to make it narrower - turned out to be quite a project! When I got "done", I felt that something was lacking so I appliqued the yellow kite with the ribbon tail in the middle. The original pinwheels around the outside were much larger but didn't look right on this size. In fact, most of the quilt is different from the pattern but I was so happy for the inspiration!

Today I am pinning a quilt using Sharon Schamber's basting method part 1 and part 2. It is so nice not to be on the floor pinning! This is the largest quilt I've tried to do this way. This quilt is a 70" square.

Eagles

Last Thursday I was near the Mississippi River and I saw more than 50 eagles! It was an incredible sight. All of them were on the ice/water.

So on Friday, Ray and I went to the River to see what we could see...

eagles in the trees...

eagles in the water...

eagles in closer trees...

eagles everywhere! In the trees and in the water!

Ray estimates that we saw over 150 eagles on Friday.

What a sight!

Spring table mats

A while ago I posted a picture of some spring fabric. I did make a couple of table mats and forgot to take pictures until now! For some reason, I can't turn the first two pictures.

I think they are the perfect colors for Easter!

My newest gadget!

I picked up our new pasta maker on Thursday and we got to try it out yesterday.

First on our list was egg noodles and they turned out! We enjoy eating some of them last night!

The process is quite easy and fun. We bought the machine at Cookin Something Up in Dubuque. They gave us recipes for whole wheat pasta, flavored pastas, and chocolate ravioli. Oh, what to make next????
