A Moving Day with Lots of Sightseeing

Heading south we turned off of Highway 101 at Tillamonk onto the Three Capes Scenic Loop that connects Cape Meares State Park, Cape Lookout State Park, and Cape Kiwanda State Park. The photos tell the story of the day - mostly cloudy/misty/foggy with a little sun.

There was an ambulance and other Emergency Services when we arrived at Cape Kiwanda. The area was quite congested. Evidently a boat had capsized.

We headed away from the congestion and had a wonderful lunch at Ben and Jeff's - grilled halibut tacos.

Our new 'home' is a house just north of Yachats, OR. We are moved in and have had dinner. We'll be walking to the ocean soon - it's maybe 1/2 block away.

Last night we went about 2 miles south of our cottage for the sunset - the beach was very different. We were close to Twin Rocks. There was a cloud bank and lots of haze but the sunset was still beautiful.

  1. Halibut tacos ... hmmm, that sounds fabulous! We saw the Octopus Tree ... it was fascinating. I wanted to see the Cape Meares lighthouse, but alas that idea was vetoed. :-( We stayed in Yachats on our first visit ... easy walk to the beach.
