Acadia National Park and more - Part 2

Oops, this didn't post last night.

When we left Acadia National Park, we headed for Bar Harbor. We found parking near the town pier and this Inn is the first house we saw - wow!

There were many boats in the pier area.

The older one with the blue porta-potty was named Tubby.

We walked up Main Street and visited many shops. We even found a treat for later; I wonder if you can guess what it was.

After leaving Bar Harbor, we drove across Mount Desert Island and headed south to Bass Harbor. The Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse was built in 1858 and is still in use. It is just 32 feet tall.

We were both tired by the time we got home and decided to eat out. The only problem is that we don't live close to very much except the Surry Store which is a convenience store with a grill and a pizza oven. So we called in a pizza order and drove the 9 minutes to the store.

As we ate our pizza, we were amazed at the amount of traffic in the store - this is definitely a happening place! Oh, the pizza was delicious!
My half - bacon and black olive  Ray's half - sausage and mushroom
Our root beer was from Portland, Maine. It was good too!

After dinner, we went home and began laundry. We decided to forgo the classical music concert next door at the Arts Barn. It's time to pack up a little. And it was time for dessert - Whoopies! We had one Red Velvet Whoopie and one Blueberry Lemon Whoopie. I love blueberries.

Tomorrow is a travel day. We will leave this beautiful state and head to New Brunswick, Canada.
