I've been working on projects that I bought while we were in Alaska. I just finished these 2 small wallhangings. Each is about 5 1/2" by 19 1/2".

I love them both but am especially partial to the one with the Santa and tree. Explain raw edge applique. How do you do that?
ReplyDeleteYou trace the shape onto paper-backed adhesive (Heat and Bond, Steam-a-Seam ...). Then fuse the adhesive to the fabric for say, Santa's hat. Cut it out and fuse the hat to the background. Then stitch around everything by machine or hand. I did these by hand using a blanket stitch.
