Nashville... but not that one

Today was another Interstate travel day - definitely not our favorite kind of travel day but thankfully, the traffic wasn't too bad and we had some good country music playing for company.  We left West Virginia and crossed the state of Kentucky to Louisville. I love seeing the horse farms, especially the ones with the white fences. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of horse farms this time. Here is just a neat shot on the way.

We headed north on I-65 into Indiana

to just south of Columbus. Then we traveled west on a much less traveled road, State Road 46, to Nashville, Indiana. We have visited this area in Brown County a number of times and always love coming back.

We usually stay at Brown County State Park but found a rental place this time. We are only about 1/2 mile from downtown Nashville. We are delighted with the rental - the outside is as nice as the inside.

As I write this, Ray is in the massage chair. He is loving it! We are going to stick around here for another day - maybe we'll go for a hike or wander around Nashville or sit outside and take photos of the finches, cardinals, woodpeckers, morning doves, ... Ray will be the one taking photos; I might just kick back and do nothing!

We are in Indiana

We are staying at the lodge in Brown County State Park near Nashville, Indiana. It was raining when we arrived yesterday and has been overcast all day today. We spent most of today shopping in Nashville. We did take time to tour For Bare Feet, a sock company here. It was really interesting! One of their stores is opening in Galena soon.

On both Monday and Tuesday, I got calls from the Census Bureau. Looks like I will be going back to work for a while. My training starts on Monday in Rockford. This time I guess I'll be testing and perhaps training people. So we will be home this weekend for sure!

Our Internet connection isn't great but the indoor waterpark here is...so more later!

Crawfordsville, Indiana

We got a good start this morning. Even had the chance to visit with one of our county's finest when we stopped at the coffee shop in Stockton. Ron S. was there with a Stockton officer. Anyway it has been a beautiful day. There was no snow anywhere on the ground by the time we got to Bloomington, IL. Going east from there, there was LOTS of flooding. And we saw many flocks of geese. Some were going north and some were really disorganized! We arrived here in Crawfordsville about 4:30 eastern time. We decided to walk for a while - it was 50 degrees(!) but the wind was cold. The lady at the motel recommended Creekside Lodge for dinner - great salad and Ray's brownie cheesecake was superb!

We continue to keep Uncle Bud, Aunt Helen, Dave, Sarah, Lisa, Eric, and Izzy in our prayers. The update from Sarah this afternoon said decline is occurring in all areas.
