We had a Rime Ice for a number of days. It's like a Hoar Frost but caused by fog. On Tuesday, we also had sun which left us with a magical winter wonderland. I'll share just a couple of my pictures from our short ride.
I'm trying to spend a little time sewing each day. It's about all I do but I am showing some progress. I have two finished quilt tops. The first is Easy Breezy. This is based on Bonnie Hunter's leader/ender project of 2020.
You may have noticed that the binding matches the color of fabric it borders.
The fun backing for this 54" by 58" donation quilt is black with all of the colors from the quilt.
A few days ago, I had 9 quilt tops waiting to be sandwiched and quilted and no other WIPs. I thought about that overnight and came up with ideas for 4 new quilts. I now have one of the quilt tops sandwiched and hope to begin quilting it this coming week. Who knows, I might have another finish one of these days!
That is a fun quilt. I like the curved one up top. How do you get the binding to match easily?
ReplyDeleteThose ice photos are beautiful! Nothing like a winter wonderful to view.....not be out in.
ReplyDeleteYour Easy Breezy looks great. I am about half way thru my joining it together. And the Birch trees are so fun. I love them. Great use of those small bits we hate to waste. You did a grand job on the binding too.
So for all you are going thru you have been quite productive. More than me! So glad you can sew still and focus on these wonderful projects.
Congrats on your first finish of the year, Jeanne! I really like the color pop blocks and the fact that you did color matching for the binding. LOVE it! Those quilt tops are pretty awesome, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your winter ice photos, especially as we never have anything like that here! Your two tops look great - I haven't started on my easy-breezy blocks yet! - and your finished quilt is lovely - I do like the way you matched the binding up.
