One last 2015 finish.

Happy New Year!

I actually finished this quilt, Sunshine on a Cloudy Day, last year - that wasn't that long ago, was it?!

I bought the pattern when we were traveling last spring. The designer is Aunt Em's Quilts.

This is a donation quilt and I absolutely love the design. I'm thinking about making another larger one for a bed quilt. This one is 57" square.

The dark color is a navy. The bright colors are all from my stash.

I quilted it with the double C. It was my second attempt with this motif and it worked well. I used Dream Cotton batting and Aurifil thread.

The back is dark navy with small birds - it was in my stash and seemed to work.

Up next is this one - I already have it pieced.

I'll tell you more about it when it is finished.

  1. I love both these bright quilts. I have a sneaking suspicion your stash has a lot of the same colours as mine! The first quilt in a larger version would be a stunning bed quilt!

  3. Wow! That quilt is stunning!! I think it would make an awesome bed quilt!!! It's one of the best "stash buster" quilt patterns I've seen. The stitching motif is perfectly chosen!!!!

    1. Thanks! It reminds me of 4 Amish quilts I made for my boys' bunk beds many years ago. As for the stitching motif, all you have to do is listen to the quilt, right? ~Jeanne

  5. Wow - what wonderful colors! Are you dehydrating anything lately? I caught some frozen soup vegetables on sale a couple of weeks ago and did about 20 packages! blessings, marlene
